summer goals

Summer is officially starting this week on the calendar. I love making a list of things I want to do each season – you can find the Spring List here and last year’s Summer List here. Having a Summer Bucket List can help give us inspiration when we are trying to decide what to do and help us make the most of our Summer.

I should also point out that moving back to Minnesota hasn’t been the easiest transition, but now that Summer has arrived, it’s helping me fall in love all over again. There is so much green, so much water to play near and so many outdoor activities. That’s where the focus of my list is instead of all the responsible adult things that I should be doing and listing out.

Baseball and more Baseball – I want to go to CHS Field to see the Saints downtown St. Paul and I definitely want to get to a Twin’s game. I love everything about a summer baseball game outside.

Camping– We are planning an end of the summer trip, but I wouldn’t mind if we could throw that tent up multiple times. We took advantage of the REI sale in May to finally upgrade our tent. We picked this tent which we could backpack with and can set up in less than a minute.

Urban Hikes (and not so urban) – We got one of these awesome books for our birthdays – we got Minneapolis, but they make one for most big cities. We can’t wait to cross these off the list one by one.

Get involved in Community and Campaigns – I’m signed up to help with the neighborhood farmer’s market and I’m pumped. It’s such a great way to meet my neighbors and help out because I’m there anyways most weeks. I also want to work with some local campaigns to help out before the elections this year.

All the Patio Time – I have barely scratched the surface of all the new local restaurants and breweries and so many of them have patios. I want to spend as much time as possible.

Paddle Time – Kayaks, canoes, just getting out on the water. We have so many lakes that are less than a 10 minute bike ride and I want to rent boats and tool around on the lakes. It’s the best part about Minnesota – land of 10,000 lakes.

THE STATE FAIR – It has been a few years and we have friends coming to visit during the great MN Get Together this year. I’m so excited to be able to eat so much food and get some of the best people watching all done in one spot.

The Usual Stuff – Friends, family, books, dogs. You know, the usual fun stuff.

What am I missing on my Summer Bucket List? What are your big plans for this summer?
