2013 - A Recap

Woof.  I can't believe this past year.  It's been my favorite year ever (although I say that every year).  I'm a little concerned the length of this recap.  I don't want it to take me the remaining 14 days of 2013 to get it all out, so I'm going to try and stick to a few different things.

13 Things from 2013:

1.
The Big Move - We are 1100 miles away from our friends and family and 6 months ago, had no idea that this was even a possibility.  It is still pretty new and we are figuring it out, but this has definitely been a game changer for us.  We love being on the East Coast.

2.  Justin's 30th birthday party on the Pedal Pub was an absolute blast.  Plus, I pulled off a surprise.  Go me.  Have you ever heard of a Top Gun party?  Pictures here.

3.  Sawyer Daniel - Our a brand new nephew :)  He joined the family in October and we love him to pieces.

4.  Big Sky, Montana - That place stole my heart.  We went on a friends ski trip in January and I absolutely fell in love with everything about it.  I learned all about the mountain life and how to snow diveskiied at Moonlight Basinsaw naked skiers at the Big Sky Resort and had a lot of backyard fun.

5.  Florida in February - Disney World was a dream come true.  I had never been until this year and I can't wait to go back.  We met my brother and his girlfriend down there and had a blast.  We visited the fountain of youth in St. Augustine before heading to Orlando where we hit all the major parks.  My favorites were Epcot and Animal Kingdom.

6.  A weekend in Chi-town - We had an amazing long weekend in Chicago in April and had my first Wrigley Field experience.

7.  California for our 5 year wedding anniversary - This trip included Tahoe, Napa Valley, Sacramento and San Francisco.  It came at the perfect time as we were preparing to share the news of our move with friends and family, but we got to celebrate privately first.

8.  My exciting purchases/finds of the year - (yes chocolate is one of them… so is beer):

My favorite things

9.  This Blog - I have been extremely lucky and grateful for this blog and everything it's brought me this year.  I've been writing here for a while, but it wasn't until 2013 that I actually had a clue of what I was doing.  I love it.

10.  More books this year - I have not read my 35 book goal, but I did read a few good ones this year and have made it part of my weekly routine - which I LOVE.

11.  Gratitude - I have done #dailygratitude everyday in 2013 on Instagram (you can follow me @stephgregerson).  It has been one of the best parts of my day.

12.  Netflix - I have completely fell in love all over again with the little red icon on my TV.  We still even get the DVD's.  It has saved us hundreds of dollars because we used to just buy movies all the time and then never watch them again.  Plus, I can binge watch all the best TV shows (although I would like them to stream Seinfeld).

13.  Spotify - I love paying each month to have Spotify on my phone, my computer and my iPad.  I can listen to it in the car, while I'm working out (when that happens) and at my house.  Here are some of my favorite songs from 2013.

And that's the longest post ever.  This year was pretty freaking exciting.  Even though I didn't really embrace the selfie or teach myself how to twerk (I'm still trying to figure out how to Dougie), I feel like we did pretty good.  Cheers to 2014.
