If you missed part one of our Blue Ridge Mountains adventure, you can catch up here. The second full day in the area started off early with a beautiful Blue Ridge sunrise. Everyone should experience that at least once.

After a little nap, we started our day off with a beautiful drive. While en route to find a waterfall, we pulled over next to a field because some of us wanted to frolic. This is not a joke.

Sometimes these ideas sound amazing and then someone realizes that they are pretty allergic to whatever they ran through. By the time we were halfway through our 4 mile hike, Justin looked like Will Smith from Hitch when he has the allergic reaction. There was a 20 minute period I thought we might have to go to the hospital, but a quick rinse off in the stream and it started to go down.

Crabtree Falls is the most amazing hike. It was rainy out that day, but we were under the protection of the trees. You climb up to the top of the falls and take the same path back down. It’s beautiful because you follow the falls the entire time and they change so much while you’re climbing. I would definitely recommend visiting this place.

After our hike, we were thirsty so we decided to check out some of the local spots. We went to Blue Toad Cidery and then Devil’s Backbone Brewing Company. We sampled lots of good stuff and ended up getting a few things to bring home (they didn’t list long.)

We were just blown away by the beautiful scenery in this part of the country. We are hoping to drive through again when we road trip to NC. I don’t know if I can even handle it while fall colors are in full bloom. Just looking at these pictures makes me want to go play outside.

Where’s your favorite waterfall? They seem to just be my favorite.
