I love a Rainy Night

It has been a very rainy day/night here.  Most people would say how peaceful and wonderful that is in the spring.  I love listening to the rain and the smell of the rain.  I love binge watching Scandal in my pajamas on rainy evenings.

I was all settled in with my food, my netflix, my heating pad and my fleece pajamas.  It was a long day and I didn't feel good and I was ready to relax.  As soon as I hit play for my date with Olivia Pope, I felt a cold, wet nose nudge my arm and then run to the door.  Crap.  My dogs hadn't been outside since the morning and didn't realize it was pouring outside.  They are not fans of the rain.  I peeled myself off the couch and prepared for the worst.

As soon as they stepped outside, they both froze.  I had to drag them across the street to the bushes that they usually love to pee on.  It was a disaster.  Mud everywhere.  Lola pooped and then did her little kick move that sent it flying right towards me.  I dodged the flying turds and almost tripped over Quincy only to step right into a large deep puddle in my Tom's.  Those shoes are NOT good in the rain.

I finally get the dogs back across the street to our front door.  I grab the mail and then see the elevator is broken.  We live on the 2nd floor so it's really not a big deal to climb the stairs, unless the dogs are wet because you have to carry one of them.  Quincy isn't the biggest fan of the stairs.  If he goes up them himself, it's usually backwards.

That video is from a few weeks ago, but I needed you to see that for yourselves.  So I had to carry the wet 25 lb dog up the stairs while keeping an eye on Lola so she didn't trip us both with her leash.  We finally make it back inside and Quincy throws up all over the place.  Awesome.

I'll be on the couch hoping for a break in the rain and indulging in wine.  Peace out.

  2. One of the worst things in life is taking dogs out in the rain. ESPECIALLY that kind of rain, ESPECIALLY on leashes, ESPECIALLY when they hate it. I felt your pain when I saw your pic last night!

  3. "I dodged the flying turds" Bahahahah! This is why I'm glad that Johnny Cakes is SO terrified of going outside that he pees inside on a pad. :)

I've been dog sitting and it's been raining non stop and this fella loves to be outside and slash around in the puddles so I feel your pain.

  11. Rainy days are the best. We had some earlier this week and it was just nice to relax. I picked catching up on Mad Men over Netflix though.

  12. I really think I love rain more than sunshine UNLESS I have plans outdoors or it's too cold to walk outside and be wet. But there is nothing like a stormy night that makes me appreciate relaxing indoors!

  13. Holy crap that was a lot of rain that night! I was stuck in it over in Times Square at a Broadway Yelp event. Soaked to the bone! Give me sun and dryness any day!
