One of my favorite songs about love is the classic from the Beatles.  I listen to this song probably more than any other.  I love it on Valentine’s Day because like I said yesterday, I love listening to everyone talk about love.  Vomit, puke, whatever – but it’s true.  Not all the super romantic stuff, but the real life every day stuff that people love about each other.  I enjoy an awkward romantic comedy way more than a Nicholas Sparks movie (sorry, not sorry.)

And then I found this song a few weeks ago and obviously, I love this too.  You’re welcome world.

But, more importantly than Valentine’s Day, is Lola’s birthday.  She shares a special day with the famous dog that lives with Queen Yoga Pants.  She is 8 years old today.  She is better than anyone in the world at cuddling.  She waits patiently every evening for Justin to sit a certain way on the couch (he has to put his legs in the shape of a 4) and then she climbs in and settles down and can sit there for hours.

She always sleeps under the blankets next to me.  We’ve had dog sitters that we forgot to warn and they were so confused when she stood next to their faces, stared at the blankets and cried until they figured out that she wanted in.

When we adopted her, we had no idea what she would be like when we got her home.  There had been signs of abuse and she seemed terrified of males.  She still has her moments with the barking and being protective of me now, but she is our amazing little 10 lb girl.

I can’t wait to get home and kick it with her after a week of being away.

Hope you have a great Valentine’s Day weekend and if you don’t feel like celebrating a day of love, feel free to celebrate a day of Lola.
