I have never really been much of a risk taker.  I take controlled risks.  I truly believe that my anxiety stems from a loss of control, so I try and keep myself in positions where I have a little bit of control.  I push the boundaries a little bit, but nothing crazy.  For example, I went mountain skiing for my first time this year, but only stayed on the greens and blues.  I had so much fun and felt like I could totally handle those.

On the total opposite side of the spectrum, my little brother is a daredevil.  He moved away from home to a town where he knew nobody when he was just 19 for work.  He is a great snowboarder and isn’t afraid of any jumps or black diamonds.  This week, he will take on a new challenge and adventure as he skydives for the first time.  It is something that he’s always wanted to do and I’m so excited for him.

He may be adventurous, but he definitely fell asleep before 8 PM on New Years Eve this year.  Although I know that I will never go sky diving and I’m OK with that, I kind of feel like I am ready for a new adventure – something that pushes my comfort zone just a little bit.  Maybe our upcoming trip to Tahoe will be the time for me to push myself.  Have you taken a risk lately?
