This was a great week.  Justin was home most of the time.  We spent lots of time with family.  Birthday celebrations have officially kicked off.  Minnesota became the 12th state to legalize same-sex marriage.  There has been so much love in the air and that makes it easy to find things I’m thankful for.

Instead of taking my normal run on Monday night, I drove downtown St. Paul and ran across the Freedom to Marry Bridge (normally known as the Wabasha Bridge.)  Mayor Coleman changed the name of the bridge to show his support and Saint Paul’s support for marriage equality.  It was pretty emotional to be near the celebrations.  There was so much love and relief that you could see.  Mayor Rybak (on the Minneapolis side of the river) decided to show support by lighting up the 35W bridge.  He also vowed to open city hall at midnight on August 1st and officiate as many weddings as possible.

I just couldn’t imagine being with Justin and not being able to be married to him for the rest of my life.  I’m happy that all of my friends will now have the same opportunities and I’m proud to live in a state that was able to make this happen.

More happy pictures:
1. Lunch with dad.  We’ve been making a habit of midday lunch breaks every other week which is awesome because I rarely leave my desk for lunch and this gives us some catch up time.
2. Running season is in full swing and I got to run the Rave Run with some awesome ladies.
3. Birthday celebrations begin.  Yes, it’s been pointed out to me that the fire on the shots looks like my boobs are on fire.  Thanks Chelsea.  It’s pretty awesome sharing a birthday weekend with my husband AND a few awesome girlfriends.
4.  Mother’s Day at the ballpark was a blast.

Last, but not least.  I am extremely grateful for the weather changes lately.  It was snowing 2 weeks ago and we hit a record high yesterday at 96 degrees in Saint Paul.  Getting outside and enjoying the sunshine has been amazing.  Bring on the green!
