Happy Monday.  It is birthday week so I’m a little happier than most Mondays.  Also, we’re looking at a four day week and then a four day weekend.  We did lots of awesome things this past weekend as well.

Friday night, we had dinner with J’s parents at Granite City and then spent the cool, rainy night drinking hot cocoa and Bailey’s and watching the final 3 hours of The Office on the DVR.  I teared up a little bit.  I have watched that show since the very first season and even when Michael Scott left, I stuck with it.  It was a great cast and I’m happy that it ended the way it did, but I will miss that show.  If you’re looking for something to replace it with and you haven’t seen Parks & Rec yet, I recommend that one… like now.

Saturday, Justin had a massage (a birthday present from the great Rick & Leah) and I went for a run.  It was so humid and I think I lost 2 pounds just from sweating.  Yikes.  After that, we went to a 3 year old’s birthday party at a park called “Chutes & Ladders” which was my favorite field trip as a kid.  I hung out with my nieces and went down a few slides that were not meant for adults.

Saturday evening, we went to the Twins vs. Red Sox game with my mom, her friend, my brother and his girlfriend.  The weather could not have been better.  I ate mini donuts and cheese curds and felt like a million dollars.

Sunday morning, we went and saw the Great Gatsby.  I don’t know why so many people are saying they didn’t like it.  I LOVED it.  I love that book and I think the movie was done beautifully.  Baz Luhrmann’s style is different and creative.  Leo is amazing at pretty much anything he does.

We saw it in 3D because that was the time that worked the best for us.  Even though we paid an extra $8.00, it was pretty cool in 3D.  The effects were subtle, but I liked it.

Sunday afternoon, we went bowling with some friends while it stormed outside.  Clearly I won (if you’re playing it like golf).  I finished the night off with some quality dog time and last year’s Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion.  Has anyone seen the commercial where they plant the tree?
