What is your favorite part of the day?

This is the question my calendar asked me this morning.  I’ve never really thought about it.  I love a lot of parts of my day.  I guess it depends on whether or not it’s a work day, a holiday, a Saturday, a Sunday, my birthday…  There are a few things I look forward to almost every single day.
My first sip of coffee each morning.  I have figured out exactly how much time it takes to let it cool down to the perfect temperature… and if you’re wondering, I refuse to share 🙂

Seeing this dog frustrated each morning as I slowly wake up and stretch, brush my teeth and get my slippers on.  He huffs and puffs and paces through the upstairs.  Some mornings, he doesn’t wake up right away and those are always my favorite.  It’s rare you catch him sleeping when he’s supposed to be, but it’s always super cute.
Kisses from this dog.  She’s always so alert and can catch you when you’re least expecting it.  It’s always gross feeling, but I think if she stopped, I would miss it.
Seeing this lake every day means I’m either setting off on an adventure (aka work) or I’m almost home.  This is Como Lake and it’s by my house and the namesake for the neighborhood I grew up in and the one I’ve moved back to with my husband.

Anytime someone makes a joke about Justin Bieber… or uses the Justin Bieber photo app.  I love cheesy ridiculous moments. (sorry, Joe, this was the only Biebs pic I could find)
Any time of the day that it’s foggy… I love fog and I love my street.  I really love this picture.
So even though I don’t really have a favorite time of day, I have a lot of moments in the day that make me happy.  Today for example, there are a few moments that will happen that I am or will be grateful for:
  1. Our walk in the sun to Target with Brady, where I purchased awesome mustache drink markers in the dollar section.
  2. The moment at 5:30 AM when I realized I could sleep another hour.
  3. The sunrise this morning that was just gorgeous.
  4. Eating lunch in the lunchroom today while chatting with some fellow coworkers and having a hilarious text conversation with Joe and a Facebook comment conversation (yes, that is a real thing) with the Simon’s
  5. The moment tonight when I’m reunited with my college roommate who I haven’t seen in about a month or two.
  6. The moment when I see Keith (another college friend who lives in Hawaii).  I secretly hope he smells like the beach… that’s weird, I know.
  7. The reaction from Katie when we enter the Gopher Bar this evening… she’s been dying to go for weeks now and last time we tried it was closed.
  8. Last, but not least.  I’m going to enjoy the quickly approaching moment when I will walk over to Brady’s desk and enjoy my first Christmas Tree Cake of the year.  Thank god I have friends at work.
Happy day to everyone!
