Happy All Saints Day!  I’ve been bad about updating the blog recently, but I have a list of things to catch up on.  Today will not be the day for that.  I just wanted to make sure that yesterday’s post had a little more substance behind it.

We went as the Sesame Street gang for Halloween.  We had Kermit the Frog (who was on Sesame St from 1969-2001 – he isn’t just a muppet), Cookie Monster (thanks Brian for letting us borrow the costume), Snuffaluffagus (homemade by Annika) and Oscar the Grouch (also homemade by KQ.)  Elmo tagged along too, as you can see from the photos.  We hung out with a whole pack of care bears, Jack & Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas, Dog the Bounty Hunter and his wife Beth, a couple of Loofas, Katniss Everdeen and Dexter.  It was a great night.

The 2 homemade costumes created lots of laughs to our small group.  After a night out on the town, we headed back to Katie & Annika’s apartment for Pizza Luce.  When we arrived, this is what we saw:

There was no way I’d be able to describe the chaos to you without a full video.  They did some serious crafting.  I should be able to post some more photos once I get the ones off our camera that will show you the detail in their costumes… pretty amazing.

We had about 60 trick or treaters last night.  The best costume was a Whoopee Cushion.  I stuck with our tradition and we watched Tim Burton movies while handing out candy and then finished the night eating candy and watching my one scary movie of the year.  This year, we watched The Others with Nicole Kidman.  I really don’t like scary movies.  I hate the way they make me feel.  I like that my husband has at least stuck with creepy movies versus graphic murder suspense movies that things jump out and make me scream.  This was a good movie with good acting, so I guess I could say that I liked it for a scary movie.

Watch the trailer and judge for yourself.  If it’s too scary, you can watch the other video I took last Saturday.  I may get in trouble for posting it, especially since Katie & Annika tried to put a stop to posting any photos or videos from our shenanigans, but this is a video I took of Snuffaluffagus while she was Snufflin’ and there isn’t anything better.  Enjoy for now until she discovers it and makes me take it down.  Hope you all had a Happy & Haunting Halloween.
