Bike Rides and Bad Minnesota Accents

Justin and I started our "exercise" plan last night.  We took the dogs for a walk, only about a 1/2 mile because they were naughty and barked at just about everything.  Lola was apparently threatened by the plastic they have on the side of the school right now while they are doing renovations.  The plastic would blow in the wind and she would lunge towards the school with the hair up on her back like she was about to attack.  Quincy on the other hand, spotted a white fluffy dog (his personal favorite) and started barking and it took him 3 long blocks to stop.  If he's really trying to impress these white dogs, I don't understand why he chooses the girly squeals and screeches when he tries to communicate.  Following our doggy adventure, we took a bike ride.  I'm just thankful and shocked that my legs aren't too sore to walk this morning.

After our exercise, we watched the movie Fargo that we had netflixed.  A few things:
  1. I didn't see Paul Bunyon's name in the credits, but I'm pretty sure they showed his statue like 15 times in the movie, with no real relevance.
  2. I am not pleased with the ending.  I don't feel like I figured anything out.  I really liked the Coen Brothers stuff I have seen so far, like the Big Lebowski, Burn After Reading and O Brother, Where Art Thou?
  3. The Minnesota accents were so ridiculous that I think they may have been the sole reason why Justin did not like the movie.  He gave it a 6.  Better luck next time.
So far this morning, Justin has already dropped blackberry in toilet and I will be having peanut butter and banana toast.  We'll see how this week pans out.

Looking Back

Photography Blog
I love this photo of Duluth taken by a girl I knew in college.  Some days, I think back on my crazy out of control times there and miss it a tad bit.  Then, I think of how much it helped me grow up and how much I've changed since smoking "all natural" cigarettes at the rate of a pack a day, drinking cheap beer and whiskey and I mean CHEAP, and not giving a crap about school.  If I could go back and change a few things, I think I would.  I would have at least raised my GPA and shown more appreciation to the teachers who actually inspired me to go to class more than once a week.  Doc Martin still tops my list.  That is a little surprising because he taught the stats class I dreaded when I registered for it.  He made it fun and gave me an A+.  I never thought I'd figure it out.

I'm still sicker than crap.  I don't understand the phrase "sick as a dog" because the entire time I've been trying to sleep and rest like the doctor says, the dogs are running around, barking and playing.  They are helping take care of me a little by just being absolutely hysterical and adorable.

While being sick, I was able to finish Bitter is the New Black.  It was extremely entertaining.  She is a very talented writer and I found myself laughing out loud often.  I really respect people who write about their own lives and are confident enough that someone will find them interesting.  I am not really too concerned about people thinking I'm entertaining, I just hope that I will find myself entertaining in 20 years when I look back on all of this.

I'm still on my healthy eating week, but seeing as though I've been sick, I've been only eating a little a few times a day.  Yesterday I was content with a breakfast bar when I tried to go to work in the morning.  I had a banana as a mid morning snack.  Lunch was out of the question because my stomach didn't feel so hot.  I had a few slices of cucumber in the afternoon and for dinner, I had egg whites in a tortilla wrap with cheddar cheese and green peppers.  I'm going to try the veggie wrap for lunch tomorrow.

Last but not least, our air conditioning works again.  J will be home from his business trip tomorrow evening and will walk into to a beautifully temperatured home and his wife and dogs that get REALLY bored when he's not around.

Horrible Monday = Trying to Eat Healthy & Being Sick

Justin is gone on business for a few days so I'm trying to eat massive amounts of vegetables and fruits and tofu and other things that he would never touch.  If I can find a few new recipes for him to try, than it will be worth it.  This did not start off so well this morning.  I have some sort of virus that the doctor can't give me medicine for, so there I was, excited about an egg white omelet, but unable to consume anything heavier than water.

I worked until about 11:30 and then the tired eyes started and I came home.  I made it to the doctor where they found a temperature of 101 degrees and still provided no help.  My nap was great and when I woke up, I decided it was time to eat.  I made homemade salsa with organic veggies.  Some diced tomatoes mixed with banana peppers, chopped up green pepper, tomato, cilantro and some pinches of garlic powder and sugar and topped off with some lime juice.  I chopped up 1/3 of a cucumber and cooked up some shrimp and last but not least I had 1/2 cup of whole wheat pasta with olive oil and chopped garlic.

I'm feeling better but still have a high fever, so I will not be taking the dogs for a walk like I was planning on doing.  Instead, I'm watching the cheesy Jonas brothers on the Teen Choice Awards.  Wow.  Miley Cyrus is becoming sluttier everyday.  I guess when you have billions of dollars, you can fool just about anybody.

My sister in law sent out all Kenzy's professional 1 year old photos today.  They are fricking adorable.  I'm including a few of my favorites.  Annette Pare is the photographer.  She also did our wedding and she's absolutely wonderful.  Here is her website if you're interested:  Annette Pare Photography
